sanding block
glue stick or favorite adhesive
Embellishments:
various styles of ribbon

Directions
- First, decide on a color scheme and gather all the materials listed above.
- If needed, cut the four pieces of patterned paper into 6x6 squares.
- Choose which paper you want to have as your cover and which orientation you would like it placed on the page. Using the flourish stamp and ink, embellish the paper as desired.
- Attach the papers to both the inside and the outside of the front and back covers. Sand the edges to get a smooth finish and then ink the edges of the chipboard, letting some of it rub onto the paper for a "dated" finish.
- Using your solid scrap paper, rip a rectangle shape so that the white core of the paper will show. Glue the paper and the ribbon border to the front cover of the journal.
- Embellish the rest of the journal as desired. Finish off by tying the remaining ribbon pieces to the binding coils.
