Purchase glass etching cream (read warnings and directions carefully), rubber gloves, plastic bowl and brush. |
Also, get adhesive contact paper, or smooth clear duct tape. And, a very sharp craft knife. |

Decide which glass, or mirror surface you want to etch. Clean the surface well and apply one smooth layer of contact paper, or tape. |
Select a design, or stencil to trace with carbon paper onto the contact paper, or tape. Click here for Rose Stencil. |

Use a permanent ink marker over the traced line to create a thick line. Then, cut-out the shapes on each side of the wide line. The exposed glass will be etched later. |
Now, follow the etching cream directions to complete the etching process. Substitutes for etching cream are mentioned below. |

The Rose Stencil, designs, or special lettering can be traced on mugs, wine glasses, window panes... |
... and various types of mirrors. Try a small project first to better accomplish an elegant effect later. |

Personalize glass, or mirrored bevels by etching anniverary dates, names, designs, etc. |
Display small curios, or candles on the etched mirrored bevel. Place the clear glass bevel in a window. |

Christmas Snow Spray, or spray paint can replace etching cream. Snow and paint can be removed with single-edge razor. Etched glass is permanent! |
