Dear Love

AdviceWire

I met this guy online and so far it's been great. We've only gone out once officially to dinner - great meal, conversation, and night overall. I'm a very spontaneous person and like to mix things up much more than the average person, so now I need your help on date ideas. This guy is not a drinker, so wine tasting is out. He doesn't like to bowl and he's not real adventurous when it comes to food, basically he's a steak & potatoes man. I recommended painting pottery and that was null and void. We seem to really like one another, but I would like to take things slow. So, really romantic things like trips and such are out. So what do you suggest?
--Out of Ideas

Dear Out of Ideas,
When you get in the right creative flow, finding a unique date idea can be fairly easy. For example, most guys like typical guy things. If you use his interests in your date planning, you'll find it less difficult to come with new ideas. You might try miniature or actual golfing, a night at the batting cages, or battling it out at a go-kart or slick-track. There are some pretty unique date ideas that you may not have considered as well, such as a day of fishing, going rock climbing, going to a shooting range, hiking a nearby trail or watching stock car races. For more traditional dates he may enjoy the comedy club, a museum, the movies, or a night out under the stars. I know you probably thrive on coming up with fun and unique ideas to impress your date. However, keep a careful eye on the possibility that you might have to try too hard to find something that interests you both. This could become a serious boredom issue for you if this relationship progresses. For even more ideas, check out our Date Night ideas section!

With Love,

Love
