However, I am the outgoing type and he would rather walk in the woods or watch TV. After telling him how I feel, he will take me out and be outgoing for a while. Then, it's back to his old routine. Relationships often consist of compromises. In your situation a great compromise would be a planned date night and a planned at-home night. Pick a day of the week, like Saturday for example. On one Saturday make plans together to do something at home. The next Saturday make plans together to go out. The key is to plan the nights together, so you both feel like the other is putting in effort. The fact that he is willing to make change at all is huge. You just need to help him find a way to make it a permanent one without him feeling like he is giving up his lifestyle as well.
