Well my boyfriend of one year just got incarcerated and will be locked up for 14 years. We had plans for marriage and to start a family. I love him with all my heart. Do I wait for him or try and move on with my life even though I know I will never find anyone else like him? -Saddened By The Bars

You have to ask yourself if he is really worth putting your life on hold for fourteen years. A person can change dramatically in that time. He may not be the same person you met when he gets out. Waiting for him could be a huge personal risk. On the other hand, if you really have something truly that special, it could be worth the wait. I can't tell you what is best for you, but chances are if he did something that caused him to be away from you for fourteen years, you can find someone better. No one knows for sure what is ahead for him or her in the future. Just because this feels like something special, it doesn't mean you can’t find something even more special with someone else. Trust yourself to make the right decision and have faith in your ability to do the right thing. I know this is a difficult and emotional situation to deal with, but in time you will find the answer you are looking for.
