Love Task #19
"Book-of-the-Month Club"
Often times you'll find there is some subject dealing with intimacy that one partner feels a little less comfortable talking about. More often than not the source of their discomfort is their own internal struggle. Talking about intimate issues can leave you feeling extremely vulnerable, especially if your partner doesn't respond favorably. However, your level of intimacy with your partner affects every aspect of your relationship. The more comfortable you both are with your level of intimacy directly relates to your level of communication, respect and love. This week's love task is aimed at helping you improve this area of your relationship.
Your task…
Go to the bookstore or library and browse through their sexual health section. Each partner should pick one book they want the other partner to read. Greater results come from books that are action-oriented such as, a book on massage techniques or new Kama Sutra positions.
Pick a date to have the books read by. Schedule two private dates on your calendar. One day for each partner to "share" what they've learned.
Afterwards, talk about how each of you felt about the experience and whether it is something you'd like to incorporate into your intimate lifestyle.
About the task…
By selecting the books for each partner, you are giving each other an opportunity to fulfill something you've always wanted and you're letting each other know a little more about your secret desires.
If you really had fun with this week's love task, make it a monthly reoccurrence. Imagine how schooled you will be after a year's membership in your private book-of-the-month club!
