Love Task #15
"Loving You Day"
While showing your appreciation for your partner is certainly the main purpose of many romantic holidays, they can sometimes leave you feeling… well… a little forced to comply. This is definitely not the best way to go about showing your feelings to your partner. In fact, many couples choose to not celebrate these holidays at all. What happens though to that one day you get to shower your partner with some deserved affection, just because you want to? The answer is simple. Celebrate a "Loving You" Day!
For this week's task you will both select at least one day each year to be your partner's day. You will not need to buy gifts or do anything elaborately out of the norm. It's just a day to be all about them. Let them choose what to eat for dinner. You get out of bed early and make coffee or breakfast for them. They get to choose what to watch on TV or what to do that evening. "Loving You" Day should be whatever you want it to be. No pressure or obligation to do something big and expensive. However, if you WANT to do that, than by all means do so.
Task Assignments:
- Secretly decide what day you will make "Loving You" Day for your partner. On their calendar, or your shared calendar, mark the date.
- A week before the date, send a little reminder about their special day coming up.
- On their day do little romantic things to show your adoration and appreciation for them. Some ideas you might want to try include:
- -Leave post-it notes around the house for them to find.
- -Mail them a love card.
- -Have their favorite take-out by candlelight.
- -Have their car washed.
- -Give them a massage.
- -Give them a few hours of free time to do whatever they want.
- If their "Loving You" Day isn't coming up for a few months, start recording loving thoughts in a journal to give to them on their day. You may want to include pictures of each other from any memorable events before the date as well.
