Peplum has been all over the Fashion Week runways for several seasons now, and it's not going away any time soon. Want to explore this very flattering look for fall? Get prepared!
Whether with trousers, distressed denim or a great pencil skirt -- peplum has tons of possibilities for fall. The only question is, which look should you rock first?
Tamasha Knit designer Haesu Kwon comments: "I love peplum because it highlights the curves and puts emphasis on the waist. For smaller waists, try wearing peplum shirts with skinny pants/jeans with heels for a curvy appearance. Pair your peplum with a long, skinny belt to draw even more emphasis to the waist line. Peplum is a look that is great for day or evening, depending on how you mix and match it with other fashion items. My personal favorite peplum style is a peplum jacket, and I simply slip it on over my T-shirt and simple ankle length colored trousers, taking a basic day look to a whole new level. For a head turning evening look, I pair my peplum with a chunky and shiny necklace and a pair of crystal beaded stiletto heels."
Fashion designer Claudia Patel furthers: "A black or dark colored structured or a minimalist peplum dress would flatter a curvy body. For slim/petite women -- wearing one that is fitted would be extremely flattering and create the right curves. Go for something in canary yellow which is a great look for the summer!"
