The rooftop soiree
There’s no better way to stand out as a hostess than with a statement-making necklace. The perfect, eye-catching necklace will not only look fabulous but will easily start up a conversation with your guests. Pair one with a classic black dress and neutral heels to really make a statement.
Jonathan Adler’s summer entertaining tips:
The home designer extraordinaire sits down with us to share his entertaining advice!
SheKnows: If you have one day to throw a summer party, what are your biggest tips?
Adler: Color, color, color! Color is one of my favorite tricks for any sort of decorating — and summer is the season for color. If you have time, find the most colorful stuff you can find to make your table festive.
SheKnows: Where is the best place to add color? To your centerpiece, place settings, etc.?
Adler: All color all the time! Throw it all together, and if you do it with conviction and abandon, it’s going to work!
SheKnows: What is the one home item you should splurge on when entertaining?
Adler: I think lighting. You should have tons of different light sources. Have the light come from all different areas with low wattage. Make sure your lamps look amazing!
The garden party
Take inspiration from your party by wearing a flirty, floral dress, combined with girly accessories. Curl your hair, apply pink blush and you will be the epitome of elegance.
The intimate dinner party
When the lights dim and the food is served, show up to the head of your table in a sexy red, knee-length dress. Sky-high heels and sparkly jewelry will only enhance this “power hostess” look.
