Tested And Approved

KRAFT's latest food launch, MILKBITE Milk & Granola Bars, are hitting store shelves this month and we're loving the healthy way to get our daily dose of calcium!

Kraft MilkBite

I've never liked milk... period. As a child, my mom struggled to get me my daily dose of calcium, and as an adult, I've somehow found other ways to take in the stuff -- cheese, ice cream (hey, I still consider it calcium, don't judge me!) etc.

I've never really liked granola either. Guess you could say I'm a picky eater! But when KRAFT told me about a new granola snack bar made with real milk (it contains the same calcium as an 8 ounce glass of milk!), I was intrigued. I decided to give it a whirl since I knew there are plenty of women out there looking for new ways to take in their calcium.

The product

MILKBITE Milk & Granola Bars combine real milk with whole grain granola and other tasty nutritious ingredients like fruit or roasted nuts and they're hitting store shelves Feb. 13. Free of any artificial flavors, colors or preservatives, these little babies are available in five delicious flavors: chocolate, strawberry, peanut butter, oatmeal raisin and mixed berry.

The verdict

I tested the chocolate bars (hey, I'm a chocolate fiend, so it was only appropriate!) and was pleasantly surprised! Unlike some other granola products, MILKBITE bars don't possess a heavily grainy or gritty texture. There's a bit of a grainy aftertaste if you don't chew too well, but nothing major. They're tasty, sweet and you hardly know you're eating so many nutritious ingredients. Honestly, I can't wait to eat the rest.

As I said before, it's hard to get me to drink milk or eat granola (I'm a huge fan of whole grain products but not usually granola-esque bars), but I'm actually a fan of these little babies, and I think other picky eaters out there will be too.
