Pay attention to expiration dates
Funny enough, many women don’t really think that their beauty products have expiration dates. Maybe it’s because we don’t really want to throw out all those expensive lotions and potions or maybe it’s sheer laziness, but whatever it is, expiration dates aren’t merely recommendations. If you’ve been wearing the same mascara for longer than three months, it’s about time to hit the drugstore, beauties! And if you can’t remember the last time you bought a new daily moisturizer, it’s high time to swap the old for the new. Doing so can help you avoid infections from old, separated chemicals and prevent you from using ineffective, expired products.
Take care of skin from the inside out
Skin care experts often say that skin is a physical indicator of how healthy you are on the inside, and it makes sense! This year, resolve to take skin care an extra step beyond facials and face masks. What do we mean? Watch what you eat and try to avoid any acne triggers; exercise so your skin retains a healthy glow; and give your skin the room to breathe once in a while by going makeup free. The road to beautiful, healthy skin certainly isn’t an easy one, but it’s definitely a reachable goal if you really try!
Use healthier products
There's been a lot of talk about "organic" and "natural" products the past few years, and it's hard to know what separates reality from fiction. This year, resolve to get educated on natural and organic beauty and start to learn about the ingredients that make up your favorite products. Knowledge is power, and knowing what products might be harmful for you and which ones will do the best job in the safest way is one of the smartest things you could do this year!
Make time for pampering
Life gets busy and before you know it, another month has passed by and you’ve hardly taken any time to pamper! This year, make pampering a priority and pencil it in your schedule just like you would a meeting or a date. Whether you resolve to get a facial once every two months or promise to take a nice, long bubble bath at least once a week, making pampering a priority can help keep you sane all year long.
